After many years of service, Sandee McClain has retired from Fair Blue. We are happy to announce that Ken Rohrbach has been hired as the new Business Manager for the 2011 season. As a previous Fair Blue board member and previous NBSL President, Ken brings many years of experience to Fair Blue. He will also bring his engineering experience and his enthusiasm for summer fun to this position. Welcome Ken!

Continuing to be Green
We will help the environment while benefiting our bondholders. Sending information through email instead of the USPS mail, saves money on printing, paper, and postage. This savings is reinvested back into the club. A postcard will be sent to ensure all bondholders receive this membership paperwork.

Any member not paid in full by May 28th, will not have access to the pool, and such delinquency will result in the turnover of your bond in accordance with our bylaws. If you chose to relinquish your bond, you must do so no later than April 15, 2011 to avoid deduction of 2011’s bondholder, maintenance, and assessment fees from your bond refund. To relinquish, please write a letter and send it along with your bond to the club’s address. If you have a special circumstance, please send a letter to the board for their consideration. 2010 Cost Savings
During the 2010 fiscal year, the Board made great efforts to contain costs while still making club improvements. Through ventures such as renegotiating our insurance policy, joining a chlorine buying group, improving safety through supervising admission to the club, & fundraising, the Board saved members almost $12, 000!

Membership Dues
The Fair Blue Board has made a conscious effort NOT to raise your dues. After almost a decade of discussions, the Board determined the swampy area along the deep end of the pool needed to be addressed. We will have a channel drain installed at the edge of the cement & grass, and will have patio pavers six feet wide by the entire width of the pool to eliminate the problem. This work will begin in Mid March and be usable Memorial Day weekend. This major improvement will equate to a one-time $40 per bond assessment fee.

2010 Improvements
The work days last spring saw some great improvements. The new benches in the baby pool & patio area, the ramp from the pool deck to the patio, and plumbing upgrades were all possible thanks to the hard work of Fair Blue members. Our members will continue to enjoy these upgrades for years to come! Comcast has added a hotspot near our club. Members with aComcast email account can now get wireless access while at the pool.

Maintenance Work Days
A $25 maintenance fee reimbursement will be given to each bondholder for the first 2 hours of adult volunteer work. Each additional 4 hours of help will earn one 10 punch guest card–a $40 value. Watch your email for upcoming work dates as the club relies on your help to prepare for the May opening.

Guest Card Fees
A guest card costs $40 and is good for 10 punches. 1 punch is taken for each guest Monday -Friday and 2 punches per guest on Saturday &Sunday. Guest cards can be purchased on your member form or at the club.

Snack Shack
Snack shack prepaid cards will be in use again this season. Cards can be ordered with your membership paperwork or purchased at the club. The cards will cost $10, and can be cut into $5 increments. All items will be sold in 25¢ increments to correspond with the punch denominations on the card. Cards leftover from the 2010 season can be redeemed this summer. A few members expressed a need for a cash option to buy snacks. The Board is looking into purchasing a vending machine.
